System error correction

Hi all,

A friend of mine is finding her system is running really slow and wants to know if there are any software packages (preferably free if at all possible!) that will improve its performance and speed.

Also, although she has RegScrubXP and anti-spywae and anti-virus software she still gets a lot of internet explorer error reports messages coming up. does anyone know of any software that is accessible for Jaws users that will correct such errors? I use ErrorDoctor but this is by no means accessible as it won't even close in response to Alt + F4.

Even if the packages suggested are not free, as long as they are accessible to Jaws users without needing Jaws scripts, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I found this new software on the downloads section of the whitestick website called C cleaner
you can find this at www.whitestick.co.uk or just go to ccleaner.com

I know they won't like to hear this, but sometimes, if the OS has been installed for a while, and you're getting a lot of errors, the best option can often times be a reinstall. Then I'd suggest getting a backup program after they have set things back to the optimal configuration, so in the future if they're having problems again, they can restore from that. But this I know is probably the last choice they want to hear.

Sometimes, if it's a new system, they bundle these things with all kinds of software that startup with the computer, like musicmatch, msn and the like. These can slow down a computer dramatically.

If so, use msconfig or the windows task manager to see what is actually running on the computer, and kill some of it.

Be very very careful not to kill a process that is needed, however.
